Lloyd L. Welch

Lloyd L. Welch, of Clawson, died at his home Saturday morning December 12, 2015. He was 67 years old. Lloyd was born December 30, 1947 in Detroit to parents Lloyd and Juanita (nee Huddleston) Welch. Lloyd graduated from Hazel Park High School in 1966 and proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service to his country, Lloyd married Janet Ray on May 15, 1971. Together, they raised two beautiful children. Lloyd was an avid baseball fan who coached Federation Baseball in the NOBF. In addition to coaching baseball, Lloyd coached youth basketball. He enjoyed music, hunting, gardening, traveling, cooking, and was a connoisseur of wine. He also found enjoyment in volunteering with the Special Olympics locally. Lloyd especially enjoyed his time with his family and will be deeply missed. Lloyd is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Janet Welch; children, Jennifer (Brian) Farrell and Adam (Ashley King) Welch; and precious granddaughter, Elise. He is also survived by his mother, Juanita Welch; brother, Douglas (Melissa) Welch, brother and sister inlaw, Richard and Mary Ray, and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Rd. (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) on Wednesday at 11am. Visitation on Tuesday from 3-8pm. Memorial appreciated to the American Cancer Society.
