Rose Emma Novak, age 88 of Carlyle, passed away at her home on Friday, December 11, 2015. Mrs. Novak was born on November 5, 1927, in Nashville, Illinois, to Herman and Hulda (Herman) Wiese. She married Clemens Novak at St. Ann Church in Nashville on May 7, 1949, and he survives. Also surviving are her children – Theresa Harvell (Robert), Robert Novak (Camille), Susan Nadler (Leroy), Sharon Novak, Patricia Wilmes (Michael), Marilyn Porter, Judith Lynn (James), and Clemens Novak (Lawana); 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and a sister – Gladys Dober. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers – Paul Wiese and Eugene Wiese and his wife Laverne, and a brother-in-law – Cecil Dober. Rose was a devoted wife and mother, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and she enjoyed listening and dancing to polka music. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, December 14, 2015, at St. Mary’s Church in Carlyle with Fr. George Mauck, officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Zieren Funeral Home in Carlyle on Sunday, December 13, from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. and on Monday morning from 8:00 – 9:30 A.M. The family suggests memorial donations in memory of Mrs. Novak be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Michael J. Fox Foundation and those will be received at Zieren Funeral Home.
