Steve Willard Kipp 59, of Key Largo, Florida, died Thursday, November 12, 2015, while successfully rescuing four vacationing night scuba divers. He was born July 20, 1956, in Melvin, MI the son of the late Willard Kipp (2010) and Rose Marie (Batchelor) Kipp of Yale. He graduated in 1974 at Peck High School where he was very active in the total sports program. Steve was a paramedic for 22 years and spent 15 of those years at Medstar, he also worked as a marine deputy for the Sanilac County Sheriff Department for 5 years and spent 8 years at Sanilac Medical Services as the Executive Director and Instructor Coordinator. In 2012 he moved to Florida and became captain of a professional tourist dive boat near Key Largo. He and Laurie Buscemi were married in Key West in 2006. Survivng in addition to his wife Laurie and mother Rosie are sons Jeremy Kipp and Scott and Lesa Lewis all of Peck and daughter Stephanie and Matt Kinnee of Jeddo, stepchildren, Allen Hyska of Michigan and Anthony and Hunter Buscemi of Florida; grandchildren, Alexys and Dylan and brother Tim and Tammy Kipp of TN. The family honors the memory of Steve and invite you to visit and share memories Saturday, December 5, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. until services at 1:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Yale.
