Amanda Jerene Elliott Kitchener, Ontario Obituary

Amanda Jerene Elliott

Amanda Jerene Elliott: Passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, August 18th, at the age of 43 with her family by her side. Amanda will be forever loved by her daughter Leah, her son Xander, and her partner Anthony. Her loving parents John Elliott (Adella Newton) and Jerene (Alan) Fortner, and brother Greg (Annamae) Elliott will cherish her memory. Amanda will be missed by her nieces Heike and Amber. Her many aunts, uncles, and cousins will fondly remember her. Amanda was a true humanitarian and lived her life not only cheering for the underdog but, through her kindness and compassion, helped many others meet their needs. She was a loyal friend and went beyond consideration for her own wellbeing to ensure that those in stress got what they needed. Her love of animals developed at very early age and continued on throughout her life. Her early years were very active - ballet in grade school, modelling in her early teens, and in high school she was a successful track and field athlete. In her mid-thirties she decided to go back to school and graduated from Trios College with the knowledge that she would need to work at group homes helping young teens get their lives together. Family life was extremely important to Amanda. She could energize a room just by walking in. Her ever present smiles and laughter were contagious. For all the setbacks and trauma that she struggled over her lifetime, both physically and emotionally, she had a tremendous zest for life! Amanda's family will receive relatives and friends from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
