Joan Balsamo

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Joan Balsamo, our loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother on August 15, 2019 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was 88 years young. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was a savvy business woman who owned a couple of fashion and beauty boutiques throughout her life. An Avid traveler, she jumped at the chance to explore new places with her husband of 47 years, Sal Balsamo. She loved life and had a firm understanding of what was important - live life to the fullest with those you love and brag about your grandchildren at every opportunity. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. Devoted daughter of the late Mario and Edith Annunziata and beloved mother of Charles and Marianne Contini, Vincent Balsamo, Ronald and Mary Ann Balsamo, Janie and Louis Corbo; sister of Guy and Grace Annunziata and Ronald and Lynda Annunziata; grandmother of Charles and Kim, Robert and Rachel, Jessica, Victoria, Alexandra, and Kristen and great-grandmother of Emelie and Annabelle.
