Nicholas A. Fragapane, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2019. He was 86. Born in Brooklyn , NY to Carmelo and Concettina Fragapane, Nicholas proudly served his country as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was also employed by the U.S Postal Service for 38 years until his retirement in 1988. He is survived by his wife, Mildred; his children, Connie Denis and her husband, Bill, and Pauline Venezia and her husband, Todd; and his three granddaughters. The family will receive visitors at the Whitham-Kanapaux Funeral Home in Rockaway on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at St. Cecilia's Church in Rockaway at 12 p.m. The entombment will take place immediately following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
