Harold E. Boyd, 85, of Wooster, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2019 following a short illness, at The Avenue in Wooster. He was born Dec. 6, 1933 in Buchanan Co., VA to the late Emery M. and Lydia B. (Street) Boyd and married Willi G. Meade March 5, 1960. She survives. He retired from MOTA (Knox County Transit Authority) after a number of years of service. Harold could make anything and enjoyed woodworking and playing his guitar. He was a humble and generous man who loved his family. Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, Patricia Smith of Wooster and Stephanie (Jimmy) McMurry of Pleasant Hill, TN, son; Kenneth Boyd of Massillon; grandchildren, Ryan and Camryn Boyd, Stephanie, Christopher and Sarah Smith and Kyle McMurry; a brother, Jackie and sisters; Wilma and Wanda. Preceding Harold in death was a granddaughter, Allison McMurry; son-in-law, Phil Smith; brothers, Clyde and Don; sisters, Gladys and Magdaline; mother-in-law, Margie Graham; and bother-in-law, Curtis Meade. Friends may call Friday, August 16, 2019 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Schlabach Funeral Home, Shreve. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 6:00 P.M. with Pastor Tim Cain officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery at a later date.
