Matilda Maude Guzzwell (nee Payne) May 15th 1927 to August 9th 2019. Passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes in Gander. Predeceased by her father Freeman; step father Charles W; mother Margaret Payne; husband Frederick, siblings and in-laws, Sydney (Debbie), Walter (Elsie), Edith (Elijah) Boone, Myra (Peter) Hefford, Alma (Bert) Hulan. Gordon (Betty) Guzzwell, Harold (Mary) Guzzwell, Gladstone (Irene) Guzzwell, Roderick (Ruth) Guzzwell, Horwood (Helen) Guzzwell, Sydney (Vira) Guzzwell, Florence (Redmond) O'Deady, Shirley (Edgar) Belbin. Leaving with many fond memories, her children Derick (Mildred), Susan (Jeff Chancey), Paul (Sandra); grandchildren Leah (Darryl Hayden), Aaron (Amanda), Justin (Tyr Jamis); great-grandchildren Olivia and Laura Hayden. For the last four months mom was taken care of by the staff of the Nursing Care Unit at Lakeside homes. These ladies and gentlemen are Gods helpers on earth, the care they provided is second to none. Many thanks also to Dr. Seety and Dr. Abdulmajeed for guiding mom through her last year. Resting at Barretts Funeral home 328 Hamilton Avenue with visitations on Wednesday, August 14th from 1pm-5pm. Cremation to follow. Funeral service will be held from St. Mark's Anglican Church, 203 Logy Bay Road, on Thursday August 15th at 2pm. Internment to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Mom Loved children and her church. In lieu of flowers, a donation to either St Mark's church or The Janeway Children’s Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
