Mary Anne McAlpine Passed away peacefully at the Chartwell Aurora Resthaven long-term care facility on Friday August 9, 2019 in her 87th year. Beloved wife and best friend of the late William (Bill) McAlpine for 51 years. Amazing mother to Rick Simpson and his wife Angie and Jeanette Poppe and her husband Stuart. Proud Nana to eight grandchildren (Krista, Andrea, Amanda, Jonathan, Alexander, Katrina, Michelle, Steven) and Great Nana to seven Great Grandchildren (Madelyn, Carrington, Abigail, Wyatt, Hudson, Henry and Joshua). Adoring sister to Gloria, Kay and Norman, all who have passed on before her. Mary Anne will always be remembered for her great sense of humour and her sewing and knitting talents. Mary Anne will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday August 19 at 3:00pm at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, 8911 Woodbine Ave. (4 lights north of Hwy 7) Markham, 905-305-8508, followed by a Memorial Service at 4:00pm. Reception following. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations, in Mary Anne's memory to the Hospital for Sick Children.
