Rose Upfold passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice on August 9th, 2019 just prior to celebrating her 62nd Birthday with family and friends. Rose is survived by her daughter Melissa, her son-in-law Nicolas and her two dogs, Ferdinand and Kazak as well as family in the Muskoka and Guelph areas. Rose is also survived by her many friends who have stood steadfast during her illness. Rose is now reunited with her son Derek and her husband, Roderick in Heaven. Rose was an outgoing person who had a very positive personality. Involved in many organizations in the community, Rose was an avid walker and could be spotted all around Sarnia striking up conversations with everyone she met. One of the kindest and sweetest people that this planet has ever seen, Rose will be missed greatly. We would like to thank the staff at Bluewater Health and St. Joseph’s Hospice, the nurses at VON and the palliative team, especially Dr. Lilly and Dr. Kim. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Gateway Room in the St. Clair Corporate Centre on August 29th from 6-8 pm. Rose requested a party to celebrate her life, we ask that attendees do not wear black. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society for Lung Cancer or the St Joseph's Hospice Resource Centre Of Sarnia Lambton. Family and friends continue to celebrate Rose’s amazing life of giving, loving and humility.
