Jack D. McLeod

Jack Dempsey McLeod, 83, of Ravenel passed away at home on August 6, 2019. He was born in Manning, South Carolina on March 22, 1936 and was the son of the late Gary McLeod and Jessie Geddings McLeod. He was preceded in death by a son, Chris McLeod, a sister, Uldine Rogers, and brothers, James McLeod, Charles McLeod, Gene McLeod, and Ray McLeod. He served his country in the United States Air Force and was a carpenter by trade. He loved fishing, coin collecting, telling stories and showing card tricks. He is survived by his wife, Judy McLeod, a sister, Jenny Cochran, children, Mary Jo Taylor, Krystal Hamil, Malesha McLeod, Alicia Manall, and Terry Bootle. Also, by grandchildren, Jackson Gineris, Sophie Gineris, Brittany Spinks, Tiffany Spinks, Jacob Stottlemire, Katelyn Stottlemire, Bryton Bootle, Cynthia Bootle, and Kimberly Tumbleston, along with many nieces and nephews. He loved all very dearly. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 12:00 pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, West Ashley, 2501 Bees Ferry Road, Charleston Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy can be submitted online at www.mcalister-smith.com.
