Mrs. Joyce Brown June 28, 1950 – August 2, 2019 Mrs. Joyce Brown, age 69, of Barnesville, GA, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2019 at her residence. Mrs. Brown, better known to her family as “Maw-Maw”, was born on June 28, 1950 in Griffin, GA. Joyce grew up in Sunnyside, and attended West Sunnyside Community Church. She loved her family, and especially her grandsons. Joyce had a passion for the PEAK organization and enjoyed being a part of their fundraisers. She was currently attending Christ Chapel, and she will truly be missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Brown; parents, Bill and Martha Dorsey; sister, Brenda Bowman; and brothers, Billy Dorsey and Danny Dorsey. Mrs. Brown is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Audrie and Roger Woods; grandsons, Curtis Woods and Benjamin Woods; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth Laster and Jay Cooper, Ruby Shavers, Rita Smith, and Martha Ann and Don Wells; brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Laurel Dorsey; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Reba and Jerry Whitehurst; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service for Mrs. Joyce Brown will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 12 p.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Reverend Billy Anderson will officiate. Friends may visit with the family 1 hour prior to the service hour.
