Delores Johanna Richter, 85, Bismarck, North Dakota, passed away June 30, 2019, at St. Alexius Hospital, Bismarck , ND. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., July 6th, 2019, Saturday, at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck with Fr. Wayne Sattler officiating. Visitation is scheduled for one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in St. Boniface Cemetery, Esmond, North Dakota. Delores was born July 17, 1933, to Steve and Lena (Piatz) Neis in Esmond, North Dakota, where she was raised and educated. In October 1949 she married Maddis Richter. She attended UND and graduated at the age of 54 from Valley City University with a Bachelor of Science (1987). Delores worked many years in banking and retail. However her most rewarding work was as a Foster Grandparent for over 10 years for Bismarck Public Schools. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, embroidery, crocheting, home canning–especially sauerkraut, and the love of music, which she passed on to her children and grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Jean Alvera, Fort Worth, Texas, and Cindy (Chester) Schwab, Bismarck; one son, Dave (Holli) Richter, Fargo; three sisters, Helen Dusek, Harvey, Agnes Streifel, Esmond, and Rose (Ray) Goralcyzk, Tulsa, Oklahoma; one brother, John (Arlene) Neis, Buckeye, Arizona; 11 grandchildren, Jesi (Jeremy) Anderson, Derek (Lisa) Richter, Angie (Jon) Haas, Ashley (Dion) Williams, Quincy Richter, Gabriel Alvera, Keri (Joey) Lewis, Michael (Larissa) Schwab, Joey (Samantha) Schwab, Andy Schwab, and Miranda Schwab; two step-grandchildren, Mike and Chris Kessel. She had 20 great grandchildren, 10 step-great grandchildren, and 2 step great-great grandchildren. Delores was preceded in death by her parents.
