Alvin Johnson Stanton, Michigan Obituary

Alvin Johnson

Alvin R. Johnson, age 78 of McBride, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Metro Health Hospital in Wyoming. Alvin was a welder by trade, but truth be told, he welded to pay the bills and support his family, but his real passion was dairy farming. Alvin loved to tinker in his shop and could build or fix just about anything. He wasn’t much for traveling or going places as he had all he needed right at home and he especially enjoyed when his granddaughters would come over to his farm. Surviving Alvin is his daughter, Kim Hoitinga of Carson City; granddaughters, Amber (Todd) Marshall of Vestaburg and Bailey Fitzpatrick of Carson City; son-in-law, John (Diana) Hoitinga of McBride; nephew, Don (Nancy) Johnson of Blanchard, and many wonderful friends and neighbors who helped him out tremendously throughout the years. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Erwin & Eva (Robinson) Johnson; his wife, Janet (Jaquays) Johnson; sisters, Zola Lintemuth and Eva Oberlin; brothers, Erwin Johnson and Jack Johnson and a nephew, Jack Johnson. A celebration of Alvin’s life is being held on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 from 5 to 7 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Stanton (225 W. Cedar Street). Final inurnment will be next to his wife at McBride Cemetery.
