Betty Grace Wolford

Corriganville, MD – Betty Grace Wolford, 94, of Corriganville, MD, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.  Born July 1, 1924, in Buffalo Mills, PA, Mrs. Wolford was the daughter of the late George A. Holler and Nellie G. (Cook) Holler. She was also preceded in death by her husband: Robert D. “Bud” Wolford; as well as two brothers, two sisters, and a granddaughter; and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.    A homemaker, Betty was employed at the Celanese during World War II.  She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Corriganville VFD for 42 years.  Betty was also a member of the McKinley Chapter #12 Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church for 70 years.   Betty is survived by her daughters: Joyce A. Whitehead; and Sandra E. Largent and husband, Lynn, all of Corriganville, MD.  She is also survived by her grandson: Todd A. Traynham and wife, Barbara, York, PA; her great granddaughter: Grace A. Eaton, Burke VA; as well as numerous nieces and a nephew.  Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.  Per Betty’s request, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 1601 Frederick StreetCumberland, MD 21502.
