J. David Dickinson

J. David Dickinson, 82, of Camillus, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Upstate University Hospital Community Campus. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a 1955 graduate of Christian Brothers Academy and earned his bachelor's degree from Le Moyne College in 1963. He was an Army veteran. David was employed with Dermody, Burke & Brown, CPAs, LLC for 50 years before retiring in 2016. He was on the Board of Trustees at CBA and recipient of the Purple and Gold Award in 2003. He also served as secretary treasurer for Camillus Optimist and was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren. David was predeceased by his sister, Ruthann; and brother, Stephen. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, the former Marlene Fulmer; daughters, Dianne (Jack) Buie of Alexandria, VA and Suzanne (Tim) Martin of Matthews, NC; son, Michael (Jane) Dickinson of Rochester; grandchildren, Robert and Sara Dickinson and Padraig Martin; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Monday, June 10 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, June 11 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 5600 West Genesee St., Camillus. David will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christian Brothers Academy, 6245 Randall Rd., Syracuse, NY 13214.
