Mrs. Louella Smith Price, daughter of the late Tommie and Vivian Smith, Sr., was born May 28, 1951, in Hartsville, SC, and transitioned to the next life on August 2, 2018. She attended the public schools of Darlington County and was a graduate of Rosenwald High School, Class of 1970. She met and married her sweetheart, Joe Price and this union was blessed with one daughter, Angela Moses. Louella was an active member of Centerville AME. There she served as the president of the Usher Board, vice-president of the Missionary Society Board, an honorary steward, and pastors aid. She worked in all capacities of the church. In her spare time she loved to cook and bake cakes for her family and friends. She was well known for her fruit cakes and peach cobblers. Louella worked at Sonoco for 31 years, until her health declined. Surviving to cherish the memory and maintain the legacy of Louella Smith Price are: her loving husband of 47 years, Joe Price; her devoted daughter , Angela (Danny) Moses of Columbia, SC; three brothers, Tommie (Hannah) Smith and Evander (Leatrice) Smith both of Hartsville, SC and Levern Smith of Society Hill, SC; six sisters, Geraldine (Alphonso) Byrd, Vanessa Smith, Gloria (Sylvester) King, all of Dovesville, SC, Christine McFarland and Veronica (Wesley) Dubose, both of Hartsville, SC and Teresa Jackson of New Haven, CT; two granddaughters, Jada Redden of Columbia, SC, and Courtney Smith of Charleston, SC; four grandsons, James Smith, Rodregus (Nicole) Smith, Roderick Smith and Cortez Smith, all of Columbia, SC; five great-grandchildren, Jayln, Deandre, Mackenzie, Malachi and Malaiyah, all of Columbia, SC; mother-in-law, Almeta Price; goddaughters, Fintress Crummy and Gloria Brand; special friends, Sheila Johnson, Maudie Zimmerman, Virginia Council, Beulah Jackson and Florie Lighty; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
