.Richard (Dick) Royer November 30, 1926 - March 27, 2019 Dick Royer, the beloved husband of Susan L Royer; father of Judy Royer, Bob Royer, Andy Royer; grandfather of John Royer, Mary Royer, Ryan Royer, David Royer, Janelle Royer Campbell, Russell Royer, Richard Royer, Joey Royer, Juliana Royer; great-grandfather of Liam Campbell, Jack Campbell, Nora Campbell, Dominic Royer, Rory Royer. Dick passed away on March 27, 2019 at 11:14 a.m. from complications of pneumonia. Richard was born on November 30, 1926, in Berwyn, Illinois and moved to Westfield, New Jersey at an early age. After completing high school he joined the Navy at the latter end of World War II. After his honorable discharge, he attended Lehigh University, graduating in 1950. In 1951, he married Susan Linsley, whom he met as a teenager at Camp Aimhi in North Windham, Maine. Richard began a successful career as a geologist for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1951. His work as a geologist took him on many projects which required his relocation to many places along the North Eastern states: Trenton, New Jersey, Berwyn, Pennsylvania, Buffalo, New York, Massena, New York, Eastport, Maine, Fanwood, New Jersey, Rockville, Maryland, and eventually settled in Baltimore, Maryland in 1962. He moved with his beloved wife Susan to Severn, MD in 2007 and resided there until the time of his death. In the September 1971, Richard accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord. From then his life was forever changed. His faith in Jesus Christ was the focus of his life, and he purposed to live his life for the honor and glory of his Lord and Savior. After retirement in 1984 from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Richard became a lay pastor and ministered at Antioch Christian Church in Catonsville, Maryland for about 5 years. He joined Severn Covenant Church in Severn, Maryland in 1991 and was an active member until his death. The family will welcome friends on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 3 pm - 5 pm and 7 pm - 9 pm at the Severn Covenant Church, 20 Gambrills Rd., Severn, Maryland 21144. A celebration of Richards life will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Severn Covenant Church, 20 Gambrills Rd., Severn, Maryland 21144. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Dick Royer to Severn Covenant Church at 20 Gambrills Road, Severn, MD 21144.
