Paul Pitman Beverly, Massachusetts Obituary

Paul Pitman

Essex – Paul E. Pitman, 86, beloved husband of Carolynn Isham Pitman, died on Friday, March 1, 2019 after a long struggle with vascular dementia. Born in Andover, MA he was the son of the late Norman W. and Mary E. (Caine) Pitman. After graduating from high school in North Andover, Paul served in the United States Air Force for 4 years and attended the University of California Los Angeles before beginning his long career as a sales & marketing professional. A resident of Manchester-by-the-Sea for many years before moving to Essex, Paul was an avid sailor. His many boats were always “first in/last out” in Manchester Harbor, and he truly enjoyed “messing about” in boats. He was a member of the Manchester Yacht Club, the Manchester Harbor Boat Club and the Annisquam Yacht Club. Paul was a lover of the outdoors and a passionate collector of nature’s wonders – from rocks & shells to driftwood “sculptures” and mineral specimens. He began each day with meditation and chose to live his life with a positive attitude, engaging smile, and boisterous laugh. He was, in essence, a seeker of the wisdom of the universe. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother, David Pitman of Essex, a sister, AlLandra (Priscilla Pitman) of Essex, four children from previous marriages, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A celebration of Paul’s life will be held at a future date. Arrangements by Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly. Online condolences at www.campbellfuneral.com.
