Mark C. Allen, 59, of Galesburg, died on Friday, March 1, 2019, 8:03 PM, at his home.  Mark was born on April 11, 1959, in Mc Cook, Nebraska. He was the son of Jerry T. and Hildegard M. (Dobbek) Allen. He married Jeanette Riepl on October 8, 2015, in Florida. Mark is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette; his daughters Jessica (Breanne) Allen of Orland Park, and Brittany Suski of Galesburg; and a brother, Bruce (Linda) Allen of Vero Beach, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his favorite kitty, Butters.  Mark was a veteran of United States Navy, and served his country proudly from 1977-1979. He then worked at Com-Ed in Joliet, and finally with the BNSF as a conductor for fifteen years before retiring in July of 2017. Mark loved going to concerts, especially seeing the Rolling Stones and Keith Urban, and taking vacations with his wife to their condo in Florida. He loved spending time with his family, especially his daughter, Jessica. He loved to help everyone, and was always busy finding something to work on or tinker with. Mark had a captivating spirit and loved to have fun. He will be missed by those who loved him, and his kitty, Butters #2.  Cremation rites have been accorded. No services are planned at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted with Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorials may be donated to the American Cancer Society or to the Mayo Clinic in Marks honor.
