Ronald Ax

Ronald Alan Ax, 78, of Columbine, CO passed away on March 1st, 2019 after a three year struggle with leukemia. He was born on March 27th, 1940 in Braddock, PA to Carl Milburn and Ethel Lavern Ax. Ron grew up in Altadena, CA where he met the love of his life Pamela Mae Earixson. They met in grade school and courted throughout high school before marrying in September of 1964. They celebrated the birth of their only son Mark Christopher Ax in March of 1970. Ron worked as a civil engineer for the Los Angeles Flood control before joining W.L. Gore and Associates. He worked with Gore for 26 years and managed their western sales office designing and selling high-speed wire and cable projects for the aerospace industry. A lifelong lover of God’s creation, Ron moved his family to the Colorado rockies where they settled in the mountain town of Evergreen, CO. An avid skier, hiker, motorcycle, and snowmobile rider, Ron and Pam loved the mountains. They traveled the world together and lived for 15 years on the slopes of Hualalai on the big Island of Hawaii. Their hearts were always in Colorado and they returned yearly to their home under the shadow of Hahn’s Peak near Steamboat Springs, CO. Ron accepted the Lord into his heart when he was a young man and lived his life by his faith. He was a deacon at the Conference Baptist Church and led by example to his community. Ron is survived by his wife Pam Ax, his son Mark Ax and his sister Darla Jean Zimmerman. He was beloved by his nieces and nephews: Eric Ax, Vicki Young, Dorian Holloway, Bob Vieregg and Erin Ax. He is preceded in death by his brother Milburn Carl Ax A Life Celebration Service will be held Wednesday March 6, 2019 at 1:00 am at the Adamson Life Celebration Home, 2000 47th Avenue in Greeley, Colorado. He will be interred at Rose Hills Memorial Park in California.
