Services for Diana Christian Lamartiniere will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2019 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria with Brother David Newton officiating. Burial will be in Alexandria Memorial Gardens. The family requests that visitation be observed Monday, March 4, 2019 at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will continue on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Mrs. Lamartiniere 79, of Alexandria passed from this life, Friday, March 1, 2019 at Rapides Regional Medical Center. Pallbearers will be Joseph Blackshere, David Dubrock, Jeremiah Gosnell, Robert Lamartiniere, Jody Lanier and Juden Wales. Honorary pallbearers will be Zakkary Lanier, Mark Lanier, Johnny Gaspard and Rickey Lamartiniere. During her working career she was a sales associate. She loved being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Lamartiniere loved her home, tending to her garden and flowers, listening to music and sewing. She loved visiting with friends and family. She was preceded in death by husband, Gerald Lamartiniere; parents, Blas and Dora Rosa Christian; brothers, Frank Henderson, Ted Christian and Donnie Christian; sister, Marie Cooper; grandson, Jonathan Blackshere. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Sharon Blackshere-Logan, Darla Whittington and husband, Jim, Robert Lamartiniere and wife, Francis, Gregory Lamartiniere; sisters, Mary Deselle, Jessie Carr; grandchild, Kristi Blackshere, Joseph Blackshere, Jude Lamartiniere; stepgrandson, R. J. Logan; seven great grandchildren; very special friend, Hubie Funderburk.
