Jonnie Eckard Ball

Jonnie Eckard Ball, 82, of Conover passed away on Friday, March 1, 2019 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. She was born February 19, 1937 in Catawba County to the late John and Cleo Thomason Wall. Jonnie was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Conover and retired from Galaxy Foods after 15 years of service. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and visiting other residents at Trinity Village. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Troy Eckard; son, David Wesley Eckard; son-in-law, Michael Rodney Ritch, and her second husband, Brownlo Ball. Those left to cherish her memory are; Daughter: Pamela Ritch of Hickory Sister: Adeliah Flowers of Conover Grandchildren: Crystal Goin and husband Mark Erica Gabriel and husband Joseph Great-Grandchildren: Calob Gabriel, Seth Gabriel, Bethany Gabriel, Malachi Poarch, Evie Goin and Dahlia Goin Nephews: Donald Flowers and Joel Flowers Niece: Debbie Stirewalt A service to celebrate Jonnie’s life will be held on Monday, March 4, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Conover. Rev. Scott Bollinger will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 4, 2019 from 2:00 to 2:45 p.m. at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church. Those serving as pallbearers are; Mark Goin, Malachi Poarch, Joseph Gabriel, Calob Gabriel, Seth Gabriel and Alan Keller Memorials may be made to Mt. I remember sitting at a yard sale with Pam and Jonnie, years ago. Jonnie was so funny. I laughed and laughed that day. She kept wanting to try on the clothes and model them for us. The memory still makes me smile.
