William T. Rennie

William T. “Bill” Rennie, 68 of Danvers, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 4:44am at his home. Bill was born on February 18, 1951 in Ravenna, Ohio. He is the son of Robert and Mildred (Crawford) Rennie. He married Betty Callahan on August 8, 1970 in Bloomington. He is survived by his wife Betty, their children; Tracy Rennie, Robert Rennie and Matthew (Jeni) Rennie all of Danvers, grandchildren; Stacey Pollock and Tristan Rennie, his brothers; Robert (Marilou) Rennie, Winters, CA and Richard Rennie, Reno, Nevada, and his fur babies; Thelma, Rocky and Ebony. Bill was preceded in death by his parents. Bill joined the US Air Force from 1969-1973. He met his wife, Betty at a USO dance at Chanute Air Force base. After serving, he went to work as a lineman for GTE later known as Verizon retiring after 30+ years. He owned and operated B & B Shooters Supply in Danvers. He was a NRA member and attended the NRA shooting matches every year at Camp Perry in Port Clinton, OH. He was a coach for the Junior Illinois State Shooters Team at Ft. Defiance and was a retired Lieutenant with the Danvers Fire Protection District. Per Bill’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded and a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made in his name to the Danvers Fire Protection District, North Danvers Mennonite Church or Ft. Defiance Rifle and Pistol Club (Junior Program), PO Box 236 Wyoming, Illinois 61491.
