Funeral services for I. L. Cole will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home with Brother Douglas Belgard, Brother Willie Welch, and Brother Grady Dodge officiating, respectively. Interment will be held at Richey Baptist Cemetery in Effie. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville. Mr. I. L., age 91, of Center Point, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Oak Haven Community Care Center in Center Point. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elashey and Mary Wilson Cole; brothers, Otis Cole, Henry Cole, Emeric Cole; sisters, Ollie Ryder, Rosella McCann, Mattie Franks, Julia Watts, and Katie Lavespere Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 62 years, Elsie Smith Cole of Center Point; one son, Delbert Cole (Terrie) of Covington, LA; one daughter, Christina McDowell (Tracy) of Deville; three brothers, Jessie Cole of Provencal, LA, Butch Cole of Effie, Kelly Cole of Van, TX; one sister, Lucy Harmson of Center Point; five grandchildren, Paris Cole, Madison McDowell, Alison McDowell, Shauna Daniels, Dawn Ipavec; three great grandchildren; Preston Daniels, Alexis and Ainsley Ipavec. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home and will resume on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 8:00 a.m. until funeral service time. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Rick Watts, Kyle Cole, Chase Cole, Rayburn Cole, Craig Cole, and Carol Ray Ryder. Honorary pallbearers will be Pat Harmson, Rayford Cole, Wayne Ryder, Rick Ryder, Paris Cole, Randal Cole, Roger Cole, and Steve Lavespere.
