Hilda Knight Pearce Pickett, 92, of Petal, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at her home. Visitation will be Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Willow Grove Baptist Church from 2 – 3 p.m. with services immediately following at 3 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Pickett was a member of Willow Grove Baptist Church. She was a Telephone Operator for BellSouth for 42 years before retiring in 1981. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert E. and Julia Knight; her first husband, James Pearce; her 2nd husband, Willard Pickett; one daughter, Laura Humphrey; three sons, Robert Pearce, Paul Pickett, and Toby Pickett; and nine siblings. She is survived by three sons, Mark (Jeanie) Pearce of Petal, Ronnie (Jan) Pickett of Hickory, and Ray (Betty) Pickett of Texas City, TX; one daughter, Judy (Bob) Peavey of Meridian; one daughter-in-law, Diane Pickett of Manchester, TN; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one sister, Merle Speed of Corpus Christi, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
