Gladys R. Mercier
Brunswick—Gladys R. Mercier, age 97, died Thursday November 12, 2015. She was born January 22, 1918 in Hyde Park, MA, a daughter of Frederick B. and Eva Haskell. She married Kenneth Stockford in 1939, Mr. Stockford died in 1970. She later married Leo Mercier in 1975. Mr. Mercier died in 2012. She dedicated her life as a loving homemaker, while also finding time to work for several years in Senter’s Department Store, Brunswick. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church, Brunswick, serving on in the church’s loyalty club. She is predeceased by a brother Warren Haskell; three sisters, Edith Libby, Ruth Morrisrow, Lottie Russell. She is survived by a son, Bruce M. Stockford of Bowdoinham; a daughter Linda Yanak of Brunswick; a step-son, David Mercier of South Harpswell; three grandchildren, Ken Stockford of Topsham, Bruce T. Stockford of Bowdoinham, Katie Stockford of Richmond. A graveside service will be held 12 noon Thursday November 19, 2015 in Growstown Cemetery, Church Rd, Brunswick with the Rev.
