April 2, 1952 - July 28, 2016 Fuquay-Varina - Anita Louise Smith Byrum, age 64, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Chalybeate Springs Baptist Church, 238 Chalybeate Road, Fuquay-Varina. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., two hours prior to the service. Inurnment will follow at the church cemetery. Anita was preceded in death by her parents, Edsel Guy and Nellie Talton Smith; and brother, Wiley Smith. She is survived by her husband of thirty years, Richard Martin Byrum; son, Eric Lipscomb and wife, Rebecca of Fuquay-Varina, NC; daughter, Allison Lipscomb Adams of Angier, NC; stepson, Marty Byrum and wife, Cindy of Rock Hill, SC; brother, Wayne Smith and wife, Glinda of Fuquay-Varina, NC; sister, Vicky Beasley and husband, Thomas of Fuquay-Varina, NC; grandchildren, Abby, Dax, Stella, Shiloh and Maverick Lipscomb, Chase and Erin Byrum, Ashlee Adams and Kaylee Gray; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to Chalybeate Springs Baptist Church Building Fund.
