Briggs, Helen (McNerney) Greece: Tuesday June 27, 2017 at age 97. Predeceased by her husbands, Walter Paul McNerney and Ernest Briggs; brothers, John, George & Robert Hopkins; sisters, Elizabeth (Lynwood) Foss & Marjorie Lizotte; brothers-in- law & sisters-in- law, from the McNerney family. She is survived by her children, Louise Covey, Paul F. McNerney, Patrick (Joanne) McNerney, James (Colleen) McNerney; daughter-in- law, Katherine McNerney; grandchildren, Dawn (James) Cody, Richard Covey, Roseanne (David) Allen, Timothy (Mary) McNerney, Brendan McNerney, Michael McNerney, Paul R. (Jessica) McNerney, Jared McNerney, Collin McNerney, Connor McNerney; great grandchildren, Jay, Evan, Abigal, Phoebe, Quinn, Maeve, Finegan, Kearia, Ivy, Tyler, Gavin, Zoey, & Addison; sisters-in- law & brother-in- law, Christine Hopkins, Dorothy Hopkins, Albin Lizotte; nieces, nephews & friends. Helen volunteered many years for Ira Jacobson American Legion Post and Canandaigua VA Medical Center. She was also an avid dancer. Memorial Visitation will be held FRIDAY from 4:00-8:00 PM at DiPonzio Funeral Home Inc., 219 Spencerport Road, Gates. On Saturday, July 8, all are invited to attend her Memorial Service at 10:00 AM in the Episcopal Church Home Chapel. Interment was private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Episcopal Church Home, 505 Mt. Hope Ave., 14620 or National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1000 Elmwood Ave #900, Rochester, NY 14620 in her memory. We would like to thank Seabury Woods and Episcopal Church Home for the wonderful care given to Helen and making us feel like family.
