Wanda Marie "Mickey" Fletcher

Wanda Marie “Mickey” Fletcher went to be with her Lord & Savior on Nov. 11, 2015 in Norman, OK. Mickey was born April 27, 1924 in Gould, OK to Rosa & Webster Alexander Earls. She married the love of her life & best friend Clifford Charles Fletcher in 1946 & they began their lives together in Del City, OK. Mickey & C.C. owned & operated numerous bars. The family moved to Moore, OK in 1970, as Clifford continued his career with Oklahoma Natural Gas. Although all of her adult friends still called her “Mickey” her name forever changed to Meme with the birth of her grandchildren. Meme’s grandkids brought her extreme joy & happiness. She enjoyed very much attending all their school & sporting events as they grew up. Meme taught us how to cook, how to drink coffee, & that it was always safe at her house. She was that person that when things were not going good you could spend an hour with her on the phone & it all would seem better at the end. Meme’s house was where you went for healthy portion of a home cooked meal & homemade love.

Meme is survived by her daughters, Rosezelpha Denchfield & husband, Jerry of Sun City, CA & Brenda Jo Royse & husband, Dr. Dayton Royse of Washington, OK, nephew, Ronnie Cox of Newcastle, OK, grandsons, David Hennessy & wife, Katine of Trenton, TX, Doug Hennessy & wife, Kelta of Norman, OK, Robert Royse & wife, Catherine of Richardson, TX, Dr. Ryan Royse & wife, Stephanie of Lantana, TX, & Randall Royse of New York City, NY; granddaughters, Amy Witherspoon & husband, Richard of Fontana, CA, & Reddy Wilson of Lake in the Hills, Chicago, IL, & 14 great-grandchildren. Meme was preceded in death by her parents, all 8 brothers & sisters, & her beloved & devoted husband of 57 years Clifford Charles Fletcher.

The family would like to thank the kind people of Angel Cove who have taken such extraordinary & outstanding care of our Meme over the last few years.

Viewing will be from 4-8 PM Fri. at Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary, 6934 S. Western. Graveside services to celebrate her life will be 11:00 AM Sat., Nov. 14, 2015 at Resthaven Memory Gardens, 500 SW 104th St., OKC. Friends may leave condolences for the family on this page.
