<p>GATES, Alice E.</p><p>Hickory Corners</p><p><br></p><p>Alice passed away December 11, 2015. Alice was born March 6, 1914 in Pavilion Township, Michigan; the daughter of Gerry E. and Ella E. (Tuttle) Kniss. An excellent cook, Alice loved baking pies, gardening, playing cards, and she often did laundry for others. Alice was a lifetime member of Prudence Noble Eastern Star and the Bedford Eastern Star. On December 12, 1934, Alice married the love of her life: Wayne E. Gates, and he preceded her in death in 1992. Alice is survived by her daughters: Betty Barnum and Mary Lou Willcutt, a daughter in law: Arlene Gates, twelve grandchildren, several great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews. Alice was also preceded in death by her parents, a son: Robert Gates, and six siblings. Alice’s family will receive friends Monday, December 14, 2015, 12:00 – 1:00 PM at Hickory Corners Bible Church, where her funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Pastor Rich Anspach, officiating. Burial will take place in East Hickory Corners Cemetery. Those who wish to make a memorial contribution are asked to consider the needs of the family.
