<p>Dr. Doytt D. Redmond, M.D., F.A.C.S, 66, of Andrews passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2015 in Andrews. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 2:00 PM Friday, December 18, 2015 at Means Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Doyle and Rev. Les Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the Andrews Old Cemetery under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home in Andrews. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:30 – 8:30 PM Thursday at McNett Chapel. Please celebrate the life of Dr. Redmond by visiting . Dr. Redmond was born August 12, 1949 in Fort Campbell, Kentucky to Doytt Denton Redmond, Sr. and Margaret Louise Dendy Redmond. He graduated from Clarksville High School in Clarksville, TN; Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN with a Bachelor of Arts Degree; and University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis, TN with a Doctor of Medicine Degree. His Internship and Residency of General Surgery were completed at Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, CA. Dr. Remond then served as Captain and General Medical Officer at the U.S. Army Health Clinic in Seoul, Korea; as Chief of Emergency Services at Silas B. Hays Army Hospital in Fort Ord, CA; and as Lieutenant Commander and General Surgeon at the Naval Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. Upon leaving military service, he joined the Northwest Surgical Clinic in Douglasville, GA and was on the staff at various hospitals in the Atlanta, GA area including Paulding Memorial Medical Center, Wellstar Cobb Hosptial, and Kennestone Hospitals from 1985 – 2005. Dr. Redmond moved to Andrews in 2004 and continued to practice surgery at Permian Regional Medical Center. He was also a courtesy staff member of Crane Memorial Hospital in Crane and Ward Memorial Hospital in Monahans. He was a member of Means Memorial United Methodist Church in Andrews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 1 sister, Margaret Jane Redmond. He is survived by his 1 brother, Dr. David Redmond and wife, Dawn, of Eads, TN; 2 nephews, Dustin Redmond of Andrews and Nicholas Redmond of Memphis, TN; and 1 niece, Brittany Redmond-Hawk and husband, Adam, of Memphis, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Permian Regional Medical Center, %Russell Tippin, 720 Hospital Drive, Andrews, Texas 79714.</p>
