Kenneth Samuel Smith

Funeral service for Kenneth S. Smith age 77 of Painesville will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby. Family will receive friends 3:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.

Mr. Smith passed away February 27, 2015.

He was born October 16, 1937 in Dunlo, Pennsylvania.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Germany at the same time as Elvis Presley.

Mr. Smith was retired from the Lake County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

Survivors include his children, Sherry Smith of Kirtland, Kenneth (Jackie) Smith of Phoenix, AZ, and Daniel Smith of Painesville; step-son, Matt (Patty) Thomas of Waterville, OH; step-daughter-in-law, Chriss Thomas of N. Canton; step-grandchildren, Justin and Alicia Thomas; sister, Sarah Jablonski of Willoughby Hills; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Smith of Willoughby; former wife, Eva Smith of Painesville Twp.; survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara P. Smith; parents, Robert and Mary Smith; step-son, Jeff Thomas; brother, Robert Smith; brother-in-law, Edward Jablonski.

Private family burial will be Friday at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
