Grant Joseph Cleary Newcastle, Ontario Obituary

Grant Joseph Cleary

CLEARY, Grant Joseph March 7th, 1954 – April 15th, 2017. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother and friend at Lakeridge Health Oshawa early on Saturday morning, April 15th with his family present. Grant Joseph in his 64th year was the beloved son of the late Hilda (Garvey) Cleary and Leo Cleary of Peterborough. Grant will be forever missed by his wife Theresa Glynn, his children Allison Cranney (Billy), Chris Cleary (Candace), and Mark Cleary (Jade) and his step children Nick Capozzi, Liana Rowan (Richard) and Marisa Erebor (Malachy). For always cherished by his grandchildren Owen and Lucas, Jacob, Mason and Kaydyn, Raphaelle, Jacob and Nathan, Isaiah and Michael. Treasured brother of Mike (Cheryl), Al (Kathy), the late Pete (Judy), Maureen Shaw (Howie), Sharon Gifford (Dave), Don (Chris), Janice Hynes (Paul), Elaine Koning (Herb), Pat (Monique), and sister-in-law Corinne Cleary, and loving uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Grant possessed and displayed strong family values that were obvious to anyone who witnessed him playing the endless games and jokes with his grandchildren. Grant prided himself on his work ethic and inspired all of those around him to a higher standard. He was a well-respected leader at his workplace due to his high level of integrity, with which he carried himself on a daily basis. Visitation will be held at the Newcastle Funeral Home (386 Mill Street S., Newcastle, ON.) on Tuesday April 18, 2017 from 6 pm-9 pm and Wednesday April 19th, 2017 from 11am-12pm, with a Celebration of Life to follow. If so desired, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
