Thomas (Henry) Canning

March 1, 1942 – February 9, 2015 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Thomas Henry Canning announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre on February 9, 2015 at the age of 72. Thomas Henry was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish Choir and the Knights of Columbus. He retired from Marine Atlantic as a pipe fitter and as a driver for CN Roadcrusier. He was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Bridget Canning. Left with fond and loving memories are son, Barry of Toronto, ON; and daughter, Denise ( Robert Strome) of Toronto, ON. Also leaving to mourn are his grandchildren,Sophie, Jordyn, Taylor, and Hailey; a very large extended family of cousins; fellow members of the Sacred Heart Choir and the Knights of Columbus. Denise and Barry would like to offer their appreciation to the staff at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Cancer Clinic and the Intensive Care Unit along with nurse, Wendy Brace and pharmacist, Evelyn Bursey. Father Eugene Morris will conduct the funeral service at Sacred Heart Church on February 11, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. Urnbearers are Jerome and Shirley Hynes. Interment will be at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Bishop’s Falls. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes.
