Mary Jane Secrist (nee Eager), age 92, formerly of Newtown Square, PA, passed away on November 11, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Dewey Walter Secrist; loving mother of Robert Secrist (Bernadette) of Glen Mills, PA and Karen Weiss of West Chester, PA and the late William Secrist. Cherished grandmother of Amy Nguyen (Justin), Valerie Castillon (Chris), Jennifer Secrist, Mike Weiss, Jessica Weiss, Carolyn Towles (Matt), Kelly Clement, Jaclyn Treadway (Chris), and Will Secrist (Finn). Devoted great-grandmother of Gabe, Jasmine, Ryder, Maverick, Abigail, Angela, Annabella Maryjane, Andrew, Elise, Michael and Danielle. Predeceased by her brothers, William Eager and Albert Eager and her sister, Carolyn Ward. Mary Jane was an active member of the Messiah Lutheran Church. She was very involved in women’s clubs and book clubs. Mary Jane was a big Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan and was at the 1960 Eagles Championship game at Franklin Field. She also attended many games at Franklin Field, Veteran’s Memorial Stadium and Lincoln Financial Field. Mary Jane was an avid book reader, gardener and moviegoer. She was an active neighbor for many years on Brookhill Road in Newtown Square. Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation, Friday, November 16, 2018, 10-11 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, 610-353-6300, followed by her Funeral Service at 11 AM. Interment Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions to a charity of donor’s choice would be appreciated.
