Arthur Yiakas

Mr. Arthur Yiakas, age 72, of Peabody, died on Sunday November 11, 2018 at Brigham and Womens Hospital, Boston after a long battle with cancer. He was the husband of the late Shiela Jean (Stulgin) Yiakas who he shared 18 years of marriage with. Born in Katerini, Greece, he was the son of the late Christodoulos and Mary (Patrikas) Yiakas. He and his family came to Lynn in 1946, where he attended schools and had lived until moving to Peabody in 1978. Arthur was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1962-1966. A hard working man, Arthur was a builder/general contractor as well as a property owner/manager on the North Shore. He is survived by three children; Christopher Yiakas and his wife Lauren, Sandi Yiakas, and US Army Specialist Arthur AJ Yiakas and his wife Michelle, two sisters; Joanne Simopoulos and her husband Van, and Antoinette Speridakos and her husband Louis, a brother Charlie Yiakas and his wife Eileen. He also leaves 8 grandchildren; Shiela, Alexandria, Alexi-Lynne, Nicholas, Aubree, Adaleigh, Aiden, and McKenzie, 2 great grandchildren; Knox and Rosalie, several nieces and nephews and girlfriend Barbara Greenwald. His Funeral will be held on Friday at 9:00AM from the Solimine Funeral Home 426 Broadway (RTE129), Lynn, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00AM in St. George Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4:00PM-8:00PM.
