Roger Alan Fletcher, age 75, of Blanchard passed away on October 20, 2018. Roger was born on September 17, 1943 in Detroit, the son of Robert and Dorothy (Sanders) Fletcher. He was raised in Brooklyn, Onstead and Monroe, Michigan. Roger graduated from Onstead High School with the class of 1962. He later attended trade school to become certified as a pipefitter and boiler maker. Roger served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for Montabella Community Schools and as a pipefitter under Local Union 174, West Michigan Plumbers, Fitters and Service Trades for many years before officially retiring in 2008. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, motorcycle and car racing, gold mining in Alaska, selling antiques at flea markets, reading, watching movies and raising animals. He loved to BBQ, and had an appreciation for great food. He also loved his pet cats, Bubba & Sissy. Roger is survived by his daughter, Katherine Anne Fletcher and his son, TSgt Charles Robert Fletcher, USAF; “His Honey”, Patricia Smith; his brother, Charles Fletcher; and the mother of his children, Cynthia Fletcher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Clare Fletcher and Dorothy Marjorie Snow. A celebration of Roger’s life is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Brigham Chapel, 118 Center St., Six Lakes, Michigan. The family will greet friends from 12:00 PM until the time of service. A luncheon will follow at the Six Lakes Flat River Saloon.
