Allen C. Harris was born May 11, 1952 ant Nyack Hospital in New York to his parents, Allen and Maureen Harris. He departed this life on October 20, 2018 at his home in East Orange, New Jersey. Allen was educated in Spring Valley, NY. He served in the United States Army from September 25, 1969 through March 17, 1972. He was a Vietnam War Veteran, receiving the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Medal and Vietnam Company Medal. He was Honorably Discharged from service. Allen is survived by: his mother, Maureen Harris of Rockland County, NY; his wife, Joanne Harris of East Orange, NJ; two sisters, Evelyn Harris of Middletown, NY and Maureen Harris of Rockland County, NY; two brothers, Paul Harris (wife Veronica Harris) of Rockland County, NY and Richard Harris of Albany, NY; his children, Amanda Harris of Spring Valley, NY, Ebony Harris of Trenton, NJ, Lamar Smith of Orange County and Angela Harris of Baltimore, MD; a special grandchild whom he raised, Ashley; stepsons, James Hicks and Leroy Hicks; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; other family and friends.
