Rev. Robert Lee Weishoff Lewistown, Montana Obituary

Rev. Robert Lee Weishoff

Reverend Robert Weishoff, 83, was born August 23, 1935 to Harvey and Vera Weishoff in Black Creek, Wisconsin. Robert graduated from Seymore High School and went on to Wartburg College, Waverly, Iowa, attending for four years. He then spent the next four years at Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa. Robert was united in marriage to Lois Kilgore in Pasadena, California in 1960 and was also ordained that same year in Irvington, Nebraska. He served the Irvington congregation until 1966. He then accepted a call to San Gabriel, California. In 1967 he was called to Elk Grove, California and served there until 1980 when he was called to Lodi, California for the next 10 years. In 1990 he was called to serve churches in Montana; Trinity in Stanford, Our Savior in Denton and First Lutheran Church, Fort Benton, Montana. His tri-parish then became service to Stanford, Denton and St. Paul in Lewistown, Montana where he faithfully ministered God’s word until his passing on October 20, 2018. His love of nature brought him to the great outdoors as an avid hunter and fisherman. He took pride in taking his family and friends out to “catch a brookie” or enjoy a hunt together. He was always up for a good Ole and Lena joke and a smile was never far from his face. His commitment to sharing God’s love was evident in all that he did. He truly was a Shepherd to the people he served. Robert is survived by his wife, Lois; sons, Mark (Laura), Matthew (Kim), Jonathan (Randee) and daughter, Christine (David); 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Marilyn Chizzo. Viewing will be at Creel Funeral Home on Thursday, October 25, 2018, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Memorial Service will be held at St Paul Lutheran Church in Lewistown, MT on Friday, October 26, 2018 at 11a.m. Lunch will follow at the church and interment will be at Stanford Cemetery following lunch. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Lutheran Seminary in Ethiopia (Stinnett mission), c/o St. Paul Lutheran Church, 125 C St., Lewistown, MT 59457.
