Dr. Griffith Askew Hamlin Jr.
Dr. Griffith A. Hamlin Jr., 72, of Columbia passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Columbia Manor. He was born in Wilson, North Carolina on October 31, 1945, the son of the late Griffith A. Hamlin Sr. and the late Margaret (Cook) Hamlin. On June 19, 1966, Griff was united in marriage to Donna (Hetherington) Hamlin, in Fulton. She survives his passing. Griff was a self-employed computer scientist. His passions were airplanes, he built and flew his own airplane, motorcycles, ham radios, and especially ice cream, but most importantly, the love of his life Donna, their son Griff III and his wife Laura; and grandsons, Ryan, Kyle, and Griffith IV. Griff was a sweet man who fought a valiant battle against cancer, not once complaining. Along with his wife, son, and grandsons, Griff is survived by brother, John C. Hamlin and his wife Pat, of Ashland; and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2018 at Richland Christian Cemetery with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Richland Christian Cemetery, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Boulevard, Fulton, MO 65251.
