Theresa Eleanor (Connors) Kernwein was born October 4, 1936 in Lawrence, MA to James and Agnes (Haynes) Connors. She grew up in Seattle and attended Holy Angels High School Class of 1954 and then St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1958. Theresa last worked at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton for 15 years, retiring in 1995. Theresa married Carl Kernwein on August 5, 1960 in Seattle, and was married for almost 58 years. She and Carl traveled around the world while he was in the US Army for 20 years. Theresa also enjoyed playing bridge, shopping (coupons), spending time with family, going to parades, and visiting Seattle. She went to her last reunion in 2017 for her nursing class. Theresa is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Jim Connors; and sister, Ceilia Moskal. Theresa’s memory will live on with her brothers, Tim (Rita), Larry (Janet), and Kevin Connors; sisters, Maureen Brown (Bill) and Michela Connors; daughters, Pam Kernwein and Cathy (Eric) Smith; grandchildren, Andrew Grossi, and Nataly, Michelle, and Daniel Smith; and great-grandchildren, Trevor Grossi, Jackson Lima, and Enola, Elliot, Erynn, and Radley Gross. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 23rd at 11:00am at Lewis Funeral Chapel.
