Bobby Duane Norris, age 89, of Monett, Missouri, passed away at 11:03 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was born August 10, 1929, in Springfield, Missouri, the son of James Fred and Alice Zelma (Olson) Norris. Bobby was an airline inspector and retired from Teledyne Corporation in Neosho, Missouri. He was a St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Marionville, Missouri. On November 6, 1948, he married Kathleen Joann Peters in Omaha, Arkansas. Bobby is survived by his wife of 69 years, Joann; one son, Ted Norris and his wife, Susan of Monett; two daughters, Barbara Haddock and her husband, Charles, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas and Gail Mackey of Monett; six grandchildren, Bryan Haddock, Marcus Haddock, Jason Mackey, Julie Gadiaga, Kevin Norris and Eric Norris; nine great-grandchildren and one brother, Freddie Norris and his wife, Jackie, of Tulsa, Oklahoma. His parents, James and Alice, two sisters, Charlyn Martell and her husband, Bud, and Shirley Ann Norris and one brother, Gary Norris preceded him in death. A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at the Williams Funeral Home in Marionville, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. in funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at the Marionville IOOF Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made payable to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in care of the funeral home.
