Artie Price Obituary

Mr. Artie Price, son of the late Pollard Price and Helen Williams Price was born November 12, 1945 in Anguilla, Mississippi. He attended Saginaw Public Schools, was a graduate of Saginaw High School, and served during the Vietnam War in the United States Marine Corps. He professed his faith in Jesus Christ and joined New Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where he was a member. He quietly departed this life on Monday, October 8, 2018 at home after a lengthy illness. He was united in holy matrimony to Shirlyn Faye Ball on June 14, 1969. This union was blessed with three children, Christopher, Chrystal, and Chauncey. Mr. Price was employed for 32 years at Saginaw Asphalt Paving Company (later Edward Levy Company) as a Construction Supervisor. A very talented man, Artie spent his spare time doing the things he loved: carpentry and tile work, landscaping, winemaking, and spending time with his extended family. “Tee,” as he was known, could usually be found in his yard tending to his trees and kindly reminding you to stay off his grass. Tee was a treasure to anyone’s life he touched: a father to those who needed his no-nonsense guidance (whether they wanted it or not) and a loyal and dependable friend. His influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents Pollard and Helen Price; brothers, L.C., Alonzo, Pollard Jr., Earl Price; sisters, Dorothy Wright, Helen Price; mother-in-law, Perlene Ball; father-in-law, Hize Ball; special brothers-in-law, Charles Sr., Percy Ball, all of Winnfield, Louisiana; and another special brother-in-law, Roy Lee Thomas of Osceola, Arkansas. His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his loving wife, Shirlyn Faye Price; children, Christopher, Peachtree Corners, Georgia, Chrystal (Keith), Chicago, Illinois, Chauncey (Rachael) Price, Saginaw, Michigan; grandchildren, Austin, Rome, Georgia, Cydney, Statesboro, Georgia, Cameron, Kennesaw, Georgia, Arianna Price, Saginaw, Michigan; brother, James (Doris) Price, Saginaw, Michigan; sisters, Bertha (Leon) Payne, Saginaw, Michigan, Barbara (Melvin) Conner, Saginaw, Michigan, Bonnie Price, Detroit, Michigan, Sherry (Roy) Greer, Saginaw, Michigan; special friends James and Helen Murdock of Saginaw, Michigan and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
