Ralph Timothy Spence

Ralph “Timothy” Spence “George” of Townsend formerly of Dover passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018. He was 48. Timmy was born August 30, 1970 in Dover, Delaware to Elizabeth “Joyce” Wilkerson Spence Torbert and the late Thomas “Gregory” Spence. He graduated from Capitol Baptist School and Wesley College. Timmy had worked for 17 years for the State of Delaware as a senior accountant. He also was an auctioneer, realtor for Harrington Realtor and also worked at the family business Spence’s Bazaar and had also held charity auctions for several local organizations. Timmy enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns and the Boston Red Sox. Timmy is survived by his mother and step-father, Elizabeth “Joyce” Spence-Torbert and her husband William C. Torbert, Sr. of Dover; brothers, Richard F. Spence “Ricky” and his wife Christine of Marydel, Thomas G. Spence and his wife Karola of Newark; nieces, Stefanie and Brittnee Spence; stepbrother, William C. Torbert, Jr.; stepsister, Lisa Torbert Campbell and many cousins. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon, Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover, DE. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8PM and one hour prior Thursday. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to American Lung Cancer Association, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Suite 800, Washington, DC 20004.
