Doris Smith (nee Giersch), A longtime Waukesha resident, went home to the Lord on December 11, 2016, age 82 years. She was born January 23, 1934 in Milwaukee, the daughter of John and Joan (nee Waraksa) Giersch. Doris is survived by her husband of 60 years, Donald Smith and by daughters; Kathy Smith, Sue Galewski and Linda Smith. Doris is also survived by granddaughters Allison, Kaitlyn and Michelle. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday December 15, from 5 - 7 PM at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Rd., Waukesha, (4 blocks south of I-94 on the corner of J and JJ). A private family service followed by entombent will take place Friday at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee.
