Irene Frances Griffith, 70, of Harrisonburg, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018, at Living Waters Nursing Home in Timberville. Irene was born in Harrisonburg on August 2, 1947, a daughter of the late Julie (Rexrode) and John William Howdyshell. She was united in marriage on Sept. 21, 1969 to Anthony Wayne Griffith, who survives. Irene is also survived by a daughter, Cynthia Sue Griffith of Broadway; sister, Joann Plaugher of Briery Branch; brothers, Wilford Howdyshell of Bridgewater, and Donald Wayne Howdyshell of Lynchburg. She is preceded in death by brothers, Melvin and Galen Howdyshell. The family will receive friends from 3 until 4 PM Sunday, July 29th, at Johnson Funeral Service in Bridgewater. A graveside service will be conducted 11 AM Monday, July 30th at Emmanuel Church Cemetery in Mount Solon, with Pastor Ted Hott officiating.
