Robert Charles Murphy
HAMILTON TWP, Robert Charles Murphy, 74 of Hamilton Township passed away at home on June 25th. Born in Trenton, Robert was a lifelong New Jersey resident having resided in Hopewell and Hamilton for many years. He was a graduate of Steinert High School East in Hamilton, and served in the United States Navy before becoming a licensed electrician. He was self employed for 22 years, serving the Monroe and Jamesburg communities as R. Murphy and Sons Community Services. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Murphy and his mother Kathryn Lynn. He is survived by his daughter, Holli Murphy of Princeton, his nephew David Greco of Lawrenceville, his former spouse, Catherine Okerson, his children Robert Murphy Jr., John Murphy, and Linda Kniep, his sister Barbara Shed and several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on July 5th 2:00p.m. at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562 with the Rev. Dr. Gregory McMillan officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to NAMI Mercer or The Popcorn Park Zoo.
