Hilda Corredato

Hilda (Pioli) Corredato, 95, of Oglesby, passed away Monday morning, June 18, 2018 at Manor Court, Peru. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2018 at Holy Family Church, Oglesby with Rev. Gary Blake, pastor officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Vincent’s Cemetery, LaSalle.  Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday in the church.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Prey-Mueller Funeral Home, Oglesby. Mrs. Corredato was born on April 15, 1923 in Cavriago, Italy to Domenico and Argentina (Tirelli) Pioli.  Hilda was only 6 years old when she came to America on the SS Saturnia in 1929.  She married Atilio (TeeGee) Corredato on May 28, 1944 in Oglesby.  Hilda worked at Westclox, Eicor, and Lou’s Supermarket and Bakery for more than 30 years.  She was a member of Holy Family Church, Oglesby, Holy Family Choir, Harmonaires, volunteered at DeAngelo Cancer Center at St. Margaret’s Hospital, charter member of Oglesby AARP and an officer, several bowling leagues and the Oglesby VFW Auxiliary.  Hilda enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and was an avid fan of the Chicago Bulls. She is survived by her three sons, Terry (Kay) Corredato of Oglesby, Dale P. Corredato of Indio Hills, CA and Thomas (Susan) Corredato of Crossville, TN; 4 grandchildren, Travis Schlacks, Angela Cervantes, Allison Miner and Michelle Davitt; 5 great-grandchildren, Kallie Cervantes, Stella Miner, Mike Davitt, Vita Miner and Jimmy Davitt; and one brother, Louis Pioli of Oglesby. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one grandson, Brian Thomas Corredato; and one sister, Bruna Bianchi. Pallbearers will be James Corredato, Ron Pioli, Rick Piscia, Mike Kutz and Travis Schlacks, Kit Miner and Mike Davitt. Memorial contributions may be directed to the donor’s choice.
