Funeral services for P.L. “P-Nut” Smith, 85, will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2024, at St. James Lutheran Church- Summit with the Rev. Peter Morey officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Crest Memorial Park in Batesburg. Serving as active pallbearers, Eddie Lundeen, Scott Williams, Randy Hayes, James Watson, Brannon Yonce, Marty Havird and the Lutheran Men serving as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic B-L Chapel. Mr. Smith was the husband of Carolyn Harmon Smith and passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024. He was the son of the late Arthur and Alberta Waters Smith. He retired from Lexington Co. Maintenance and was a member of St. James Lutheran Church-Summit.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Carolyn; his two sons, Ty L. Smith, Leesville and Gary M. Smith (Melanie) Leesville; as well as his granddaughters, Bethany Smith, Madison Driggers and Karley Leaphart and a great-granddaughter Charley Driggers. Also surviving is his sister, Rafetta “Doc” Buzhardt, Batesburg along with nieces and nephews; sister-in-laws, Annette Caughman (Ervin), Janice Williams (Bobby), Pat Akins, 2 brothers-in-law, Ronnie Harmon (Carolyn), Terry Harmon.

He was predeceased by his brother, Drayton Smith and three sisters, Vernell Carver, Magdelene Price and Edna Manchester.
